We continue to read in some newspapers that we are stubbornly entrenched in our intransigent and rigid positions, refusing the support of institutions and private individuals who are offering us alternative housing. This is absolutely not true. We are happy to preserve our spirit and our philosophy of life, but that doesn't mean we want to be deaf to external requests . What is being said about our refusal of the help offered by the mayor and private individuals is false.

Nathan Trevallion and his wife Catherine Birmingham, the parents of the "family in the woods", stated this in a letter to the press.

"We deeply regret that we have not had the opportunity to demonstrate, also due to the delay in producing some of the documents we had submitted," Nathan and Catherine, parents of the three children removed by the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila from their home in the woods to a protected facility, continue in their letter. "How we strictly observe, nurture, and manage parental education, fully believing in the importance of education and the open-mindedness that must be given to our children."

We firmly reiterate that the claims about our refusal to accept assistance from the mayor and private individuals for alternative housing while we await the renovation of our home are false. Therefore, the two parents add, we would like to conclude by thanking all the individuals and institutions who have supported us and who we hope will remain by our side with the loyalty and serenity that are essential when the primary values of people's lives are at stake .
