The suspect suspected of murdering 25-year-old Albanian Kevin Muharremi , killed at dawn this morning in Montecalvoli (Pisa), has been arrested. The suspect, a fellow Albanian of the victim , was stopped late this morning on the Arezzo section of the A1 motorway by two patrol cars from the Battifolle section of the highway police.

According to investigators' reconstruction, the victim was shot in the neck while in a car with two other friends : he was sitting in the front passenger seat. The attacker, however, was in an SUV with another person. Three shots were fired, one of which was fatal.

The shooting was reportedly preceded by an argument in a bar in Capanne . It remains unclear whether a chase ensued between the two cars or whether the shooter later reached Montecalvoli. The SUV apparently pulled up alongside the Fiat Doblò, and the shots were fired immediately afterward.

Alerted by the screams of the young men in the car with the victim, residents of the village called the Carabinieri and 118 emergency services and provided first aid. Via della Repubblica was closed to traffic for several hours to allow the Carabinieri, forensic scientists, and the coroner to carry out their investigations.
