Two victims and thirteen injured, including seven children, is the provisional toll from the collapse of the balcony that occurred last night in the Vela Celeste di Scampia in Naples.

The victims, according to what we learn, are a 29-year-old man, who died instantly, and a 35-year-old woman, who died upon arrival at hospital.

The 7 children involved are between 2 and 8 years old. For them traumas, fractures and bruises.

The building was evacuated and the prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, immediately activated the CCS, the rescue coordination centre. At the prefecture in Naples he took stock of the situation to manage the interventions to make the area safe and to assist people left homeless. At his side were the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, with whom Bari was involved in an on-site inspection, and all the components of the rescue coordination centre.

The prefect arranged for surveillance and anti-profiteering services by the police, while the mayor of Naples organized the assistance of social services on site.

Meanwhile, the deputy prosecutor Antonella Fratello of Naples is currently investigating against unknown persons.
