Race against time to save a 31-year-old speleologist – Ottavia Piano – stuck at a depth of 150 meters in a cave in the Fonteno area, in the province of Bergamo.
Last Sunday, the woman had descended into the abyss to explore, but was never able to re-emerge due to an injury to her leg, probably broken.
After the alarm, the Alpine Rescue teams intervened on the spot, which began the complex operations to bring it back to the surface.
The woman is constantly supported by rescuers, in close and continuous contact with a doctor and a nurse. His condition is good.
Last night it rained, even inside the cave, and this made the operations for getting the stretcher through, already delicate due to the limited space, even more complex.
