The big day for Irgoli has arrived: Thursday 7 December, at 6.30 pm, in the Parish Church of San Nicola the Neapolitan school organ, built in 1750 by Mauro Gallo, will come back to life after a long and painstaking restoration that lasted two years , with an exceptional inaugural concert.

The work, of extraordinary quality, was handled, for the mechanical part, by Roberto Curletto's Turin organ workshop in Vinovo with the decisive contribution of Franco Nicora for the tuning, while the restoration of the wooden case involved the expert craftsmen of Arborese laboratory.

The delicate restoration operation was made possible thanks to the contribution of the Italian Episcopal Conference.

The generosity of some Irgolese citizens did the rest.

Many artists did not want to miss the prestigious event organized by the Arte in Musica Association with the support of the Municipality of Irgoli.

The protagonists of the musical event, which will mark the rebirth of the precious instrument, will be the organist Giulio Gelsomino and "Sos Cantores" of Irgoli, as well as two of the best vocal groups from Barbagia directed by Maria Bonaria Monne such as the polyphonic ensemble "Amicos in Cantos” and the female choir “Priamo Gallisay” of Nuoro.

Highly anticipated by enthusiasts and lovers of the liturgical and organ repertoire, the evening will be the first of a long program of highly appealing shows that will be held in the Cedrino Valley throughout the month of December.

Entrance is free and free.
