The appointment is for Friday at 6 pm: at the Cinema Cityplex Moderno in Sassari , “Nel mio nome” (In my name) , a film by Nicolò Bassetti, will be screened. Organized by the Società Umanitaria di Alghero, in collaboration with the associations AGEDO Nord Sardegna Sassari and Trans*Support! Sassari on the occasion of the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
The film tells the coming-of-age story of four young friends who share important moments in their lives and their gender transitions. Nico is 33, Leo is 30, Andrea is 25 and Raff is 23: they come from different parts of Italy. They begin their gender transition at different times in their lives. Day after day, they must face with great courage the obstacles that a strictly binary world places before them. Having a dignified and fulfilling life is a matter of survival. They must be resolute, infinitely patient and above all they are aware that to overcome adversity they need a good dose of irony.
After a speech by AGEDO and Trans*Support!, the film will be introduced by Giusy Salvio (CSC of Alghero) and, at the end of the screening, Maria Paola Curreli (AGEDO) will meet the audience to discuss the issues that emerged from the film, and more.
