On Tuesday, April 12, the examination of the bill for the recognition of the principle of insularity in the Constitution will begin in the first Commission for "Constitutional Affairs" of the Senate. In short, the parliamentary process is proceeding at a rapid pace.

“We are preparing to face the second parliamentary turning point, strengthened by the results obtained so far - says Michele Cossa of the Committee for Insularity - and by the now full-blown support not only of Sardinian deputies and senators but of the entire Parliament. We have a path ahead of us yet to complete, but we plan to finish by July ".

The text went back to Palazzo Madama because, being a bill that amends the Constitutional Charter, four steps are required, two for each branch of Parliament.

"The proposed law of popular initiative, started from the bottom and supported by all civil society, runs in Parliament - adds Cossa - with the aim of restoring balance and justice in our Constitution. We are ready, now more than ever, to bring forward the battle of Sardinia and the Sardinians with determination and firmness ".

On March 30, the Chamber had granted the go-ahead for the amendment to Article 119 of the Constitution on the recognition of the peculiarities of the Islands and the overcoming of the disadvantages deriving from their insularity, already approved in the first resolution by the Senate.
