Definitively approve "by the summer" the amendment to Article 119 of the Constitution which recognizes the peculiarity of the islands and the overcoming of the disadvantages deriving from their insularity.

To launch the appeal, the day after the go-ahead in the Chamber , are the Sardinian and Sicilian parliamentarians who have called a special press conference. In terms of insularity, the Constitution still lacks two readings, one in Palazzo Madama and one in Montecitorio.

"This is a reform of civilization and equity free from any form of welfare, a battle of the people in whose success few believed", explains Michele Cossa, regional councilor of Sardinia, one of the promoters, who thanked the presidents of the Chamber and the Senate for sensitivity on the issue and "the leader of Forza Italia in Montecitorio Paolo Barelli, who took charge of the scheduling of the provision on behalf of his group".

For Pietro Pittalis of Forza Italia, this battle "found the support not only of the Sardinians and Sicilians but of all political forces, as demonstrated by the unanimity recorded in the final votes at first reading".

Roberta Alaimo (M5S), speaker at the Chamber of the text, was also satisfied. "In a meeting in Montecitorio, we urged President Fico to follow the process of this constitutional law proposal. It is a reform that represents a lot for Italian citizens living in the Islands because it initiates a process of growth of the territories".
