The Regional Council has given the green light to the birth of a new body that "will have to give legs, body and heart" to the principle of insularity , inserted since last July 28 in article 119 of the Constitution.

After some delays in the examination of the resolution presented by Michele Cossa (Riformatori), president of the Special Commission in the Assembly in via Roma, the document passed unanimously after a morning of debate in the Chamber. by experts in matters relating to the issues of insularity (mainly constitutional law, community policies and the economy), the support to the regional government and the special commission to ensure that the principle has practical and concrete effects in the implementation of the rules.

The Committee will have to assess the compliance of the laws in force and those to be adopted, but also of the administrative measures, with the new constitutional principle. He also has the task of verifying the adequacy of policies on insularity with the new constitutional regulatory framework and with the recent European guidelines.

The Committee will have to prepare a platform of interventions for the implementation of the new article of the Constitution and for the overcoming of the island gap, aimed in particular at the accessibility of Sardinia and territorial continuity, energy supply, infrastructural deficit. An expected vote, the unanimous one of all the directors, who intervened largely to thank the president of the special commission Michele Cossa for the work done.

Attention of the minority on the appointment of the members: "The Board must be diligent and concrete in identifying the members of the committee - the leader of the M5s Roberto Li Gioi wished - we expect the members to be free from political connotations and can operate independently ".
