Another step forward for the proposed law of popular initiative for the recognition of the principle of insularity in the Constitution.

Even the Senate Constitutional Affairs Commission has in fact given a positive opinion to the text, paving the way for approval by the Chamber of Palazzo Madama, which will then be followed by the last passage to the Chamber.

"It is a further important step forward that opens a new scenario for Sardinia, of which we are finally beginning to see the new light. We are moving forward towards the inclusion in the Constitution", said the Sardinian regional councilor Michele Cossa, exponent of the Committee for insularity. Cossa himself thanked those who have fought to date to achieve this result, starting with the Sardinian parliamentarians.

On March 30, the Chamber of the Chamber gave the go-ahead for the amendment to Article 119 of the Constitution concerning the recognition of the peculiarities of the Islands and the overcoming of the disadvantages deriving from their insularity, already approved in the first resolution by the Senate.

"We have a path still to be completed, which he hoped we hope to finish by July", concluded Cossa.

For the governor Christian Solinas it is "a further decisive parliamentary passage, which brings us ever closer to the finish line".

“The final approval is approaching - continues the governor - which will guarantee Sardinia the recognition of many rights denied for too long. I am comforted - then adds the president of the regional council - by the unanimous consensus that the proposal collects, the result of the long political action we have carried out over all these years ".

"Sardinia - concludes Solinas - does not ask for privileges, but for the recognition of just and sacrosanct rights".
