Great satisfaction for the go-ahead of the Chamber to insert the principle of insularity in the Constitution was expressed by the President of the Region, Christian Solinas: "Sardinia is today stronger and more capable of asserting rights that have been denied for too long, in order to have fair compensation of disadvantages that the island condition entails. After the recognition of the European Parliament that voted the Omarjee resolution for the rights of the Islands, the result of the work of the Sardinian Region, and now on a national level with the inclusion of insularity in the Constitution, we are even more determined in the intent to keep up our commitment to give back to our island, to its economy, to every citizen what has been denied up to now ”.

The governor also stressed the need to continue with the claim of the rights of Sardinia both at the national and at the European level. "The State must be our ally in Europe, so that we can carry out the claims of the Islands in Brussels with unity and determination - he said - but even before that we must be able to substantiate content by clarifying as soon as possible the terms of implementation of this renewed constitutional provision. . We must avoid that the constitutional amendment results in the umpteenth recall of principle on state legislation, devoid of substantial effectiveness: an affirmation of principle needs to be expressed in its possible articulations ”.
