Twenty-five years of activity that, thanks to the association Su Palatu Fotografia, have included Villanova Monteleone in the calendar of the national panorama of contemporary photography and offered an unexpected and often unpublished look at the island. Saturday at 5 pm in the premises of Mas.Edu, of the Academy of Fine Arts “Mario Sironi” in Sassari, the exhibition “Insula/Insulae. Landscapes from the collection of Su Palatu Fotografia” will be inaugurated.
The exhibition features a selection of twelve photographic publications from the Su Palatu collection, which offer a layered and plural look at Sardinia. What emerges is a choral story, where the landscape becomes a terrain of critical investigation, memory, vision and transformation. The projects on display provide a reading of the island that escapes clichés, highlighting the complexity and richness of the territory.
The exhibition project is the result of a collective work conducted by students of the Curatorial Practices Laboratory of the Department of Communication and Art Education, under the supervision of Davide Mariani , coordinator of the Department, and Sonia Borsato , curator and former director of Su Palatu. The exhibition is accompanied by the publication of a catalogue edited by Soter Editrice.
The photographers: Mario Arca, Pierluigi Dessì, Salvatore Ligios, Roberta Masala, Massimo Mastrorillo, Paolo Marchi, Giuliano Matteucci, Emanuela Meloni, Gioele Pinna, Giulia Sale, Leonard Sussman, Fausto Urru, Davide Virdis.
The exhibition is part of the second edition of the Curatorial Practices Laboratory of the Department of Communication and Art Education, on the occasion of the Open Monuments 2025 event and will also remain open on Sunday.
