«Insufficient interventions to address the problems of Sardinian healthcare»: the Cgil contests the budget

"There are not enough specific interventions planned to address some of the most evident critical issues of the health system, starting with the waiting lists that, in the text, it is thought to address by allocating more resources to private health care". The complaint is from Fausto Durante, regional secretary of Cgil, during the hearing in the Regional Council on the budget . A meeting in which he underlined numerous issues of merit and a wish: "That it really makes sense, that is, that the text under discussion will not be distorted, because if that were the case we would find ourselves faced with what happened on the text of the health law and today's hearing would represent a mere formal fulfillment".
Secretary Durante, who announced that an in-depth analysis and proposal document on the Budget will be provided, then moved on to four points. On the first, healthcare, in addition to the main critical issues there are other doubts: "The attention given to welfare issues and social-health measures is fine, for the rest there is no correspondence between the provisions contained in the Healthcare reform and the budget items regarding the issue ".
The second point concerns resources for health and safety at work: «Last September 4th», Durante recalls, «we signed the Buggerru Pact with President Todde, for which it was hypothesized to allocate 30 million in three years, but at the moment there does not seem to be any trace of these resources in the law ».
On industrial policies, the Cgil has repeatedly called for the need to create a regional agency for industrial development linked to a specific fund for the transition: " Even in this case, there does not seem to be an adequate commitment ", the secretary commented. "Just as there is no clear direction on the productive and industrial development of the Island. Of course, there is an effort on the employment front but attention seems to be concentrated mainly on income support interventions, which are fine but cannot fail to be accompanied by programmatic lines of industrial development".
Finally, the funds to be allocated to the merger of the airports: «We reiterate that whatever corporate solution will be adopted, for the Cgil it is decisive and fundamental that the role of management and control be exercised by the Region . A sensitive matter such as that relating to air transport and territorial continuity certainly cannot be entrusted to private entities and to market logic alone», concludes Durante.
