On 8 December 2011 , the Planetarium was opened to the public in the new headquarters of the Unione Sarda in Cagliari . Present in many large cities, the Planetarium is a room where you can admire the celestial firmament and explore the Universe in a pleasant and captivating way.

One of the most modern planetariums in Italy is installed at the Unione Sarda, with which it is virtually possible to travel in space and time , admiring not only today's sky, but also that of the past and the future. Accompanied by an astrophysicist, you can therefore closely observe some of the most fascinating places in our universe and seek answers to the fundamental questions that man asks himself about the cosmos .

Since its inauguration, the Unione Sarda Planetarium has hosted about 190,000 spectators , offering a vast program of titles that alternate over the course of the weeks.

Member of the NASA Museum & Informal Education, and under the supervision of a scientific committee, made up of university professors from the University of Cagliari and Palermo, the Planetarium has prepared a vast program of educational projections for schools . The Universe, space exploration, environmental sustainability, Galileo and Dante are some of the proposals that are available to schools that, from childhood to the last year of high school, can book a visit to the Unione Sarda Planetarium.

THE INITIATIVES – On the occasion of its 11th anniversary, on Thursday 8 December, the Planetarium offers two shows at a reduced price .

The first show is aimed at families with children and will show a “ Journey among the stars ” at 4 pm. At 7 pm a journey through space and time, " Starry Cosmos ".
