Not for everyone, 2020 was a year to forget. The sporting successes have made the Covid period less bitter for Sardinian athletes, technicians, clubs and managers who, with reference to that period (but not only), received the merits of the Coni in Cagliari .

Two shine more than the others: they are the golden stars for the 84-year-old Silvestro Atzori (Federvela) and the 74-year-old president of the regional Federvolley, Eliseo Secci . Both had already received silver and bronze ones in their careers.

Six are silver stars, two of which go to historical clubs such as Atletica Oristano and the Uras Archers (engaged in the Trophy of the Regions). Then there is the manager of Fitarco, Giuseppe Spanu , that of Fikms (martial arts), Massimo Casula , the shooting technician Leonardo.

The other merits delivered in the room of the T Hotel in Cagliari by the regional president of the Cones, Bruno Perra , are bronze, ie relative to Italian titles: "Sardinia has been capable of fabulous results in a terrible year," he said.

Field hockey and sailing take the lion's share with the two Amicora teams and with the Olympic sailor Marta Maggetti , the only one present in the room among the main athletes. Also worth mentioning are the sprinters Dalia Kaddari (absent because traveling after the Diamond League in Oslo) and Wanderson Polanco , the fighter Simone Piroddu , the boxers Patrick Cappai and (for 2019) Daniele Oggiano , the former Dinamo basketball players Brian Sacchetti and Matteo Formenti (for the 2015 championship, both absent).
