From today in Sestu is “Sa festa manna” dedicated to San Gemiliano . It will take place until 6 September in the splendid locality of the same name, including religious rites, folk, concerts and musical performances, exhibitions, gastronomy.

In short, it is recovering after the pandemic. That of San Gemiliano is one of the most awaited festivals in Campidano that has always brought faithful and foreigners from half the province. A festival that has been repeated, historians say, for centuries.

THE PROGRAM - It starts on September 1st with a concert by the town band “Giuseppe Verdi”. On 2 September at 7 pm, the procession with the transfer of the simulacrum of San Gemiliano from the parish of San Giorgio martire, to the rural church accompanied by folk groups and the musical band. Mass with the Santa Cecilia choir will follow. In the evening show with "Pino and antibodies". On the third, several masses will be celebrated. In the evening, a traveling exhibition by the cultural association "Mustajonis e S'orcu foresu". Then a rock concert.

On 4 September, the procession with the relic of the saint (11.30 am) around the small church with the Lorenzo Perosi choir. In the evening a band concert and the presentation of a comedy.

Again: on the 5th the simulacrum of the Saint will return to the parish with the ox cart. A Ballu tundu show is also planned.

On 6 September the conclusion, with the procession at 7 pm. Fireworks and the show with Claudia Aru in concert will follow.

Every day there will be events proposed by the Pro Loco, events destined to attract everyone's interest.
