The sixth edition of the Mauro Giuliani International Guitar Festival is about to start , a musical event dedicated to the famous Italian guitarist and composer, one of the leaders of the 19th century.

The event, organized by the Sound Music Art Association and sponsored by the municipal administration led by Graziano Milia, will be held in Quartu Sant' Elena , in the former Capuchin Convent, from 3 to 5 January .

The first evening, today at 9pm, will feature guitarist Simone Onnis , artistic director of the project and considered one of the greatest exponents of Sardinian concert music at an international level.

On January 4th at 8pm, Antonio Molfetta, a native of Puglia and an established virtuoso of the six strings, active in Italy and abroad at the most prestigious festivals and considered one of the best Italian guitarists, will perform , while Fabrizio Ferraro, Sardinian by birth but transplanted to England for over 10 years, will hold the final concert the following day at 6.30pm.

Also at the Ex Convento dei Cappuccini, on the same days, before the concerts, the conference section of the Festival will take place, divided into a series of meetings and conferences with the aim of exploring important topics for guitarists and in general for all musicians and enthusiasts dedicated to the study of an instrument.

Today at 5pm we will talk about music, autism and dyslexia thanks to the participation of the President of the Order of Psychologists of Sardinia, Angela Maria Quaquero.

Tomorrow the works will open at 10 with a greeting from the President of the Order of Physicians of the province of Cagliari, Emilio Montaldo, while the conference will be held by Giovanni Paolo Maietta, a specialist in forensic medicine, who will address the topic of pathologies linked to the gestures of music, which will be followed by the second speech of the morning dedicated to "Musical genius and madness" with Antonello Canu, psychiatrist and consultant to the Court of Cagliari.

Sunday 5 January at 10 am, an eagerly awaited appointment with Yoga teacher Doriano Sardu , who has specialized in Hatha Yoga and Qi Gong for 25 years, who will hold a theoretical and practical meeting on myofascial and postural Yoga.

The afternoon closing of the conference will be entrusted to the scholar, teacher, pianist and composer Michele Sestu who, from 4 pm, will talk about his work on the Kaizen method in its application to the musical field.
