Postponed due to inclement weather the day before the Cavalcata Sarda, the show of music, masks, and songs "Voices and Sounds: Myths and Rites" will be held on Sunday, June 21st. After seven years, Monte d'Accoddi, the thousand-year-old pre-Nuragic altar unique in the Mediterranean, will once again serve as the setting. Admission is free. The area will be accessible from 4:30 pm, with parking in the dedicated parking lot, approximately 400 meters from the archaeological site.
Presented by Giuliano Marongiu, artistic director of the Cavalcata 2026, "Voices and Sounds between Myths and Rites" features a program featuring a cast of groups from different parts of the island.
Between the light of the longest sunset of the year and the ancient stones of the sanctuary that already hosted dances, rites and sounds 5000 years ago, the launeddas of Roberto Tangianu, the Mamutzones of Samugheo, the polyphonic choir Bachis Sulis of Aritzo directed by Michele Turnu, the accordion of Peppino Bande, Sos Tintinnatos of Siniscola, the Janas of Bosa, the Tenore “Murales” of Orgosolo and the Merdules Bezzos of Ottana will alternate.
The evening concluded with the Ilune female choir of Dorgali directed by Alessandro Catte and the Tumbarinos of Gavoi.
