Even Carbonia, born precisely in the year in which the racial laws were enacted, experienced the infamy of the persecutions of the Nazi-fascist regime, albeit fortunately to a very limited extent: it was 1938. One more reason that justifies the fact that the Municipality decided to join the "Reminder Auschwitz 2023. The Journey of Memory", a project financed by the Municipality and managed by ARCI Sardegna with the Deina Association, addressing young people between 18 and 25 years of age.

It will allow 4 young residents of the Municipality of Carbonia to visit the extermination camps of Auschwitz-Birkenau. "Reminder Auschwitz" is a European citizenship education project, designed to accompany the younger generations in the discovery and understanding of the complexity of the world around us starting from the past and its narratives, so that they can acquire the critical spirit necessary to be protagonists as citizens in today's world.

"In this context - specifies the councilor for Culture Giorgia Meli - the journey of memory represents an opportunity for personal educational enrichment, which contributes to educating a generation of children". The most important stage of the project is the trip to Krakow, presumably 9-14 March 2023. Those interested will have to fill in the application form exclusively online by midnight on Wednesday 25 January. They will then receive the summons containing all the necessary information.
