In the Financial Law there is also the money to finance associations, institutions, foundations and sports teams. The regional councilors who follow their own college have always tried to get funding for local business initiatives.

But here – as the former commissioner and regional councilor Paolo Maninchedda points out in his blog “Sardegna e Libertà” – the Region must have lost count not so much of the expenditure, but of the number of teams playing in Excellence, given that there have been only two out of nineteen were financed : the Bosa with 130,000 euros and the Nuorese with 50,000.

«Obviously the question is: what do these two teams have more than the others?» wonders Maninchedda , who recently returned to his activity as a university professor. “Answer: nothing, absolutely nothing. And therefore, because they and only they enjoy this privileged contribution. Answer: because at least one regional councilor - and it is not difficult to imagine who he is, at least in one case - has proposed to give public money as a gift to these two private companies as he pleases. It did not occur to the regional councilor himself that he could have signed an amendment providing for the financing of all the excellent teams in Sardinia. No. And it didn't occur to him», concludes the former councilor in his blog, «because the teams don't all play in the same province and in the same electoral college ».

Contacted by telephone, the president of Bosa, Massimiliano Calaresu , replied: « We made a request to the Region, through the regional councilor Alfonso Marras, to have economic relief after two years in which we were unable to use the municipal sports field . Two away seasons are tough to deal with: that's why we had to pay for transport, clubs and pitches from other clubs in other countries in order to be able to face the tournament. In recent years, several Municipalities have helped their companies with loans, Bosa's has never. And never – for these aids – have I raised doubts about the correctness of the championship. So I ask if the 4.2 million allocated some time ago for tourism in Macomer, the famous Macomerese tourism, have not drugged the market , given that Bosa is left without a euro».

The acting vice president of the Nuorese Annico Sanna adds: «We simply asked for help to make up for the shortcomings that have arisen in three years of the pandemic . We had an interlocution with a regional councilor and we obtained funding. Other clubs have received aid from the Municipalities: that of Nuoro has blocked them with money already foreseen in the determination for the maintenance of the field. I repeat: we got help. I don't understand: why all this chaos for once a few euros get there? ».

Who knows, however, how the other 17 teams in the top regional league think. Are you sure they didn't need "help" too?
