First day of the Miners Cup Trophy tomorrow evening at 8pm at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Carbonia. Dinamo Banco di Sardegna and Peristeri Athens, teams that compete in the Fiba Champions League, face each other. Friday's event is the first act of a challenge that will have its "revenge" on Sunday, again at 8pm, in the event organized by the Municipality of Carbonia together with the Miners basketball school of Carbonia.
For the Sassari team it is a dress rehearsal in view of the championship which opens on Sunday 1 October at Palaserradimigni against Napoli. Sassari's lineup is still patched up, given the injuries to Tyree, Charalampopoulos and Bendzius.
In Peristeri Athens coached by Spanoulis, Olympiakos champion, Joe Ragland plays, opponent of the blue and whites wearing the Milan and Cantù shirts.
Meanwhile, yesterday two Lba awards for the white and blue club: Ousmane Diop as most improved player (Most Improved Player) and the Dinamo press office as Best Digital Project. Another award was given to Jack Devecchi in recognition of his lifetime achievement.
