It will be the guitar of Simone Onnis, Saturday 26, at 11 at the Palazzo di Città di Cagliari, to open a series of events related to "The suspended song of painting", the great retrospective dedicated to Gastone Biggi, curated by Claudio Cerritelli.

Music and art together for an emotional journey that experiences a new approach formula dedicated to a wide audience who will have the opportunity to discover the works of a great painter and famous compositions for guitar.

The exhibition, produced by the Department of Culture and Entertainment - Civic Museums of Cagliari, in collaboration with the Gastone Biggi Foundation, unfolds on the four floors of the ancient Town Hall and traces the most significant phases of the painter's artistic production, crossing a chronological period that runs from the late 1940s to 2014.

On the occasion of the first appointment of the cycle, wanted by the Councilor for Culture Maria Dolores Picciau, the six strings of the island virtuoso, one of the most internationally appreciated guitarists and the first Sardinian to have performed in one of the most important concert temples in the world, the Carnegie Recital Hall in New York, will resound at the end of the guided tour, curated by the art historians of the Museum, which will accompany the public to discover the works of Gastone Biggi.

During the performance of Simone Onnis, ambassador in the world of the Royal Strings strings of Valencia, enthusiasts will be able to listen to, among other compositions, some gems of the most loved guitar repertoire including the famous "Gran Jota de Concierto" by Francisco Tarrega and the traditionally inspired piece "Gitaneria Arabesca" performed with an instrument of high craftsmanship made by the master luthier Michele Greci.

It will be a real soundtrack capable of creating the ideal atmosphere for the canvases painted by Biggi, full of suggestions dictated by the rhythm of dots, signs and colors that tell about life.

Simone Onnis owes his training to the legendary Venezuelan guitarist Alirio Diaz of which he was also assistant and partner in numerous concerts in duo.

The next appointments with the synaesthesia at the Palazzo di Città will be on 13 and 20 March at 11 with two important ensembles of wind instruments with piano that will offer music by Mozart, Beethoven and Poulenc.

In compliance with current regulations aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19, it will be necessary to show the super green pass and wear the FFP2 mask.
