A meeting dedicated to Pinuccio Sciola is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 19 March, from 6 pm at Palazzo di Città , as part of the program of events organized by the Civic Museums of Cagliari , “ Memory and visions. Art in Sardinia in the civic collections ”.

The event, which revolves around a rare wooden sculpture by the artist from San Sperate depicting a motherhood, will see the participation of Maria Sciola , general director of the Pinuccio Sciola Foundation, who will dialogue with journalists Elsa Pascalis and Daniela Sari.

"From the museum to the street, from the village to the city, from the figurative to the contemporary, from the rough and unfinished to the maniacal perfection of the cut - explains Maria Sciola - This is how the life and production of this man who I was lucky enough to have as a father and for whom I invest all my physical and mental energy evolves. And we will talk about it together with two of his great friends, professionals, women who in that house that was a seaport have seen me grow up and me with them".

"Between anecdotes and memories - concludes the director of the Foundation - I am sure it will be a truly exciting afternoon at the civic museums in dialogue with an unpublished work from the youthful production of Pinuccio Sciola ".

The Pinuccio Sciola Foundation was born from the idea of the internationally renowned Sardinian sculptor to carry forward in an institutional manner the most complex and project-oriented activities of his work, involving his children to give continuity and a future to his work and his philosophy of life.

The Foundation was established on July 22, 2016, two months after Pinuccio's death, by will of his children Chiara, Tomaso and Maria, and embodies the projects and spirit of openness, hospitality, sharing and respect for nature and people that have been the founding values of Pinuccio's entire "millennial" life.
