After the pandemic, the traditional and awaited musical event dedicated to Holy Week and its most poignant songs is back , a highly intense show scheduled tonight, Saturday 1 April, at 8 pm in the Church of the SS Redentore in Arborea.

A staging with lyrics and music strongly desired by the parish priest Don Silvio Foddis, the Choral Academy and the Corale Santa Cecilia of Arborea with the patronage of the Municipality of Arborea, led by Manuela Pintus, and with the support of the Pro Loco, the Producers' Cooperative , the Banca di Credito Cooperativo and the historic Arborea dairy industry.

Among the protagonists of the production the Coro di Bonarcado directed by Michele Turnu , composed of voices of exceptional mastery that will make the initiative that has been repeated for over ten years in Arborea magical and poignant thanks to the commitment of Riccardo Zinzula, director of the Corale Santa Cecilia and tireless soul of various Civic Schools of Music in Sardinia.

The director of the ensemble of the small all-male municipality of Montiferru is Michele Turnu, composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, author of choral reworkings of immortal melodies that are now performed throughout the island and beyond the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The musical meditations, with excerpts from "The Passion of the Christ" by Sister Anna Katharina Emmerick and chosen by Don Silvio Foddis to trace the entire route of Calvary up to the eve of Easter, will be punctuated by readings recited with the main performers Roberto Rossi, Alessio Licheri and the parish priest himself in the role of Jesus of Nazareth.

An evening dedicated to the highest spiritual themes for an original production articulated in a balanced way between music and words.

This year the contribution of the Corale Santa Cecilia will be fundamental, a polyphonic group established for over four decades and returning from important successes at national and international level.

A moment of great music that is part of the constant work of spreading the musical culture that the Corale Santa Cecilia, together with various local institutions, carries out thanks to the commitment and preparation of Maestro Zinzula and the passion of the choristers, dedicated to the study of rare and very difficult scores.

In the past the choir toured in Spain, at the Lloret de Mar festival, in Emilia Romagna, in Veneto, in Lazio and in many other regions and suggestive localities of the Peninsula.

Admission is free.
