«Here is the Sardinian recipe for living more than 100 years».
The post by Dan Buettner , American researcher and author of National Geographic, well known for his Netflix documentary "How to Live to 100" dedicated to the Blue Zones, i.e. the regions of the world where people live the most, which the 64-year-old Englishman has been studying for some time and which, as is known, also include Sardinia.
On his profile, Buettner decided to divulge, for the benefit of his over 600 thousand followers around the world, the secrets of an island dish, discovered during his research in Sardinia.
«In Sardinia I was lucky enough to meet the Melis family who holds the Guinness World Record as the oldest family in history . They are nine brothers whose combined age was 851 years (the eldest was 109)", writes the researcher. Adding: «They ate the same lunch every day: sourdough bread, a glass of Cannonau wine from the blue zones and a very special minestrone ».
«Minestrone – continues Buettner – is simply a soup made with vegetables available in the garden, beans and cereals (usually a type of pasta). The combination produces a delicious meal in a bowl packed with protein and, more importantly, a potpourri of fiber and fuel for your microbiome ."
Attached to the text, there is also a video, which portrays the preparation of the “Sardinian-style farfalle” and the images of Buettner's meeting with the long-lived Melis family. In the bio, however, the inevitable link with the recipe for the preparation of the "longevity dish".
