The "return" of Giuseppe Biasi in an exhibition attracted over 200 people this evening to the National Art Gallery of Sassari in Piazza Santa Caterina.

The inauguration of the exhibition “Giuseppe Biasi. The regional collection" offers 31 of the 293 works that the Sardinia Region has granted on loan for use to the Art Gallery while waiting for the opening of the Museum of the former Carmelo in Sassari, which will be the "home" of Biasi's works as well as a regional museum of the twentieth century and the contemporary.

Doing the honors is the director Maria Paola Dettori who, in addition to the two rooms on the ground floor , is having a third room prepared to house other pieces from the collection, in an inevitable rotation given the high number of works.

The tempera and oil paintings cover the first 40 years of the twentieth century and reiterate why Biasi is a pre-eminent figure in Sardinia and among the greats of Italy of the first half of the last century. Processions and parties, portraits of women and men of that island that the artist from Sassari has been able to enhance and promote not only through biennials and exhibitions on the peninsula.
