Healthcare, the Democratic Party and Five Star Movement are seeking an agreement after tensions: "This is not the time for division."
The test will be the €750 million budget change. Opposition member Piga (FdI): "We need a change of pace."Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The goal is a swift and streamlined process to implement the €750 million budget change approved by the Regional Council on Friday: the Regional Council is awaiting the approved text, which contains the €350 million "maneuverable" by the council groups, before it can begin its examination in the third commission chaired by Alessandro Solinas , also the regional coordinator of the M5S.
The budget bill won't be before the parliament for a few days, perhaps next week, because it first requires the opinion of the Regional Board of Auditors. For budget laws, auditors have 15 days to submit opinions and reports, but for budget changes, the deadline is reduced to three days.
The goal, however, is to approve the law as quickly as possible . The commission will therefore have to find a compromise , also in light of the political tensions within the broad majority , between the president's party and the Democratic Party, which has strongly urged more decisive action on healthcare, presenting alarming figures .
"There have been clarifications," Solinas explains, "then there will certainly be contexts in which the majority will make all the evaluations on how to spend the one hundred million earmarked for healthcare , to incorporate the requests into the budget law provisions, as is right."
Fellow Five Star Movement group leader Michele Ciusa made a direct appeal: "In a time of great difficulty, even internationally, we must not divide on the issue of healthcare. I am convinced that this will not happen; everyone's attention will be at its highest, and the effort the Five Star Movement has always made on this issue is clear for all to see."
Democratic Party group leader Roberto Deriu also shared a common goal: "We don't have a problem with the Five Star Movement. Our problem is that healthcare in Sardinia is in danger. The very structure of healthcare provision is in danger, so we must all work together to fix it . This isn't the time to argue; it's the time to address the problems seriously, carefully, and objectively."
Criticism is pouring in from the center-right, with Fausto Piga, deputy group leader of the Brothers of Italy (FdI) , attacking: "This budget change will be remembered as the most heralded change ever. It was said it was supposed to be a turning point. Instead, it seems to be yet another misstep. This measure will certainly have to address the current emergency, but we have doubts that it can truly create a turning point in creating a vision for economic and social development."
Piga points to the "four-month" delay, but promises an opposition of "good will" to "find a solution on the issues that affect the Sardinians." He's not obstructionist for its own sake, "but it's clear that we will never allow money to be thrown out the window or work to continue in such a haphazard manner."
