Tony Carnevale, composer, arranger, choir and orchestra director, but also artistic and musical producer, trainer and author of international fame, arrives in Cagliari to present a regional preview of “Hands”, the first work of the Anora Project . The author of many soundtracks for the big screen will be on the stage of the Exmà this evening, Thursday 22 May, at 7 pm, together with Stefania Graziani , pianist and composer adopted by Sardinia who has chosen Cagliari as her second home.
"The event - as the two composers declare - will be the occasion to listen to the 11 songs that make up "Hands", "hands" represented on the cover by the drawing of Lorenzo Graziani and the graphic design of Luisa Mosca, and to propose the Anora Project to the many Sardinian artists with the intent of creating connections and meetings of authentic and free collaboration that involve the different forms of art". "Artists for Artists" is in fact the claim of the Anora project, an evolution of the laboratories directed by Tony Carnevale born more than 25 years ago, whose purpose is the creation of collective projects and works that can involve all forms of art such as dance, theater, cinema, music and audiovisual.
“Hands” , the second album for Stefania Graziani and the tenth for Tony Carnevale , is the result of a human relationship that starts from training and extends to artistic and professional collaboration. From a performative point of view, the work was created by playing the sampled instruments one by one. It is a poetic attitude that Carnevale, in addition to having fully realized it in his first album “Risonanze” and in the recent “Tu che mi puoi comprende”, has already expressed in detail in his book “Oltre le note – un tasto non ragione alla musica”, defining it as an “Integral composition”: it is therefore a compositional process that begins with the idea-image and ends with the definitive master, in the belief that even the elaboration of the sound is part of the creative process.
From a conceptual point of view, it could be defined as “ Virtual Multi-instrumentalism ”. Artistically speaking, in a more general sense, it is the proposal of a compositional process similar to that of the modeling of malleable materials, in which the form is defined progressively and simultaneously with the composition . Today's event, with free admission, will be a unique opportunity to “hear” the tracks of the album live but above all to meet the two composers and start a comparison between the many Sardinian artists who have enthusiastically joined the project.
