The enormous mural with the face of Grazia Deledda acted as the choreography. Identity pride. Sergio Zuncheddu has cited the Nobel Prize-winning writer for Literature, on more than one occasion, as capable of raising awareness and inducing the ruling class to react, to plan a virtuous future for the island. «If we look at the data reported, the only plus sign is under unemployment», said the entrepreneur from Burcei and publisher of the L'Unione Sarda group, on Friday evening in Nuoro, in the auditorium of the Satta library, for the presentation of his book, “Buongiorno SarDegna”. Matteo Floris, a high school student just a step away from graduating, immediately accepted the invitation: «Politicians aside, the rebirth must rest on us young people: we must protect the environment and guarantee ourselves a future without escape, in this wonderful place».

The shock

In front of a varied audience, the author reiterated that the ruling class - political, entrepreneurial, bureaucratic and trade union - has the moral duty to defend Sardinia from ongoing attacks which could destroy the only significant resource it still possesses: the Landscape, scarce resources and therefore of inestimable economic value for the Sardinian community. There is a real risk of still seeing profiles of hills and mountains compromised, in their beauty, by gigantic wind turbines around Ortobene, Gennargentu and all the natural wonders of the island; it is the risk of seeing the marine horizon ruined and the possibility of enjoying it for future generations compromised; it is the certainty that, with all this, they are only feeding the pockets of speculators who are careless of the landscape and are causing irreversible damage to Sardinia, as has already happened with the large polluting basic industries, without real and lasting repercussions for the territories in which they are located. All this can still and must be stopped, even with a new Pratobello, if necessary, when the entire Orgolese population reacted, successfully, to the demand to expel shepherds and herds from their territories to practice military exercises there. The editorial group of L'Unione Sarda is carrying out the task of informing the Sardinian community to make it more aware, stimulate the reaction of the ruling class and raise awareness among young people, true hope for the future of the island, those on whom to count to change the condition of economic dependence, due to the low per capita income and the suffering and inconvenience suffered by Sardinia. Landscape protection allows us to focus on attractive activities for the high-end hospitality industry, in the wake of a double-digit growth market expected for the next few years. And it allows you to compete with Holland and Germany for the Einstein Telescope in Lula's countryside. The Island would become the listening center, known throughout the world, of the gravitational waves originating from the birth of the Universe. The investments and the effects on the Nuoro area and the whole of Sardinia would be of great importance, which requires us to be vigilant with respect to attempts to modify the winning characteristics of those places with the installation of wind turbines, for example, an attempt recently thwarted, fortunately, also for the investigations of L'Unione Sarda.

The new generations

Sergio Zuncheddu, requested by the journalist Graziano Canu, from the heart of the Barbagia capital met with the children of Giorgio Asproni, a classical high school also attended by Indro Montanelli. «You young people, please: send us all home», the entrepreneur chanted: «Take Sardinia into your hands, make sure that there is an awakening, a new beginning. Clean up this place, fix it up, reduce the entropy, reduce the disorder, and bring order." And again: «We have a fantastic place, which only those immersed in its beauty are unaware of. Rebel against those who want to ruin it, often with the connivance of local base supporters, perhaps for a plate of lentils! Rebel against resignation and addiction to dependence on those who only want to use us." Eighteen-year-old Matteo is the spokesperson for the Nuoro students, a sort of people leader. And he promises: «We will do our utmost, we will defend our land with study and knowledge. We young people want to stay here, it's our dream. Let's imagine an island full of opportunities and not uncertainties, as unfortunately happens now."

Rebirth and cohesion

The new generations want to pursue a "worthy" land, as per the title of the book. «We must start again from our history, first of all», points out Antonella Fancello, professor at the University of Sassari: «I always reiterate this aspect to my students. Every Sardinian must be aware of the value of his land. This is my only dream."
