Unstoppable. The increase in prices of basic necessities seems to be untamable even at the beginning of 2025 , despite numerous appeals from citizens and the Government's attempts to contain the high cost of living.

Attempts that have proven to be in vain, because despite a physiological cooling of inflation across Europe, spending on food, fuel and bills shows no sign of slowing down even though the crises triggered by Covid and the Ukrainian conflict have largely been put behind us.

And in the end, the bill for Sardinian families could be very high: over 200 euros more to spend in 2025.

This is why even in Sardinia the anger of consumer associations shows no sign of abating in these weeks of new price increases that are once again inexplicable in the eyes of families who are finding it increasingly difficult to make it to the end of the month, between mortgages, rent, car insurance, health and school expenses.

"The authorities that should monitor price trends have their hands tied," admits Eliana Cara, regional president of Federconsumatori.
