About 61 million euros in three years: these are the resources put in place by the regional council for the "poverty plan" adopted on the proposal of councilor Mario Nieddu .
The funds are divided as follows: 49.8 million in favor of the Social Inclusion Income (Reis) with 1.5 million for further integration measures; 3 million against usury , to support credit for destitute families; 1.3 for the “income of freedom” in favor of women victims of violence; 4 million for Caritas activities in the area; finally, 1.2 million to the food bank .
Regional funding that is added to the national resources of the Fund for the fight against poverty, 21.6 million euros for 2021 alone.
“We reaffirmed our commitment to the weakest sections of the population, at risk of social exclusion - the words of Governor Christian Solinas -. The issues of combating hardship and supporting families remain a priority, as evidenced by the full implementation of the Poverty Observatory, which Sardinia had been waiting for for seventeen years ".
"We propose a welfare model that is not simple welfare , but based on projects aimed at full integration", adds Nieddu.
