The negotiations for the transfer of ownership are in their final stages, a contract that leads to the strengthening of synergies in a key sector for the ecological transition such as that of green chemistry, leveraging what has been built up to now to maximize the impact and seize new opportunities . Both companies are protagonists of the creation of the Matrìca green chemistry plant , the joint venture set up in 2011 between Versalis and Novamont in Porto Torres and specialized in the production of bio-based products from renewable sources.

Novamont is one of the leading international companies in the field of chemistry from renewable sources, particularly in the field of biodegradable and compostable bioplastics.
