A crossbar each between Cagliari and Roma: at the Domus, on the first day of Serie A, it ends 0-0. Good performance by the rossoblù.
Nicola lines up Cagliari with a 3-5-2, compared to the 3-4-2-1 of the Coppa Italia, with Luvumbo-Piccoli up front. The surprise for the Giallorossi is Zalewski as a left winger, with Dybala on the bench as expected.
First half an hour without any surprises, then Scuffet gives Domus a scare by not controlling a back pass from Luperto : he manages to recover in time and saves on the line, avoiding a sensational own goal. Marin is dangerous in the 41st minute , a great left-footed shot from just over twenty meters and on Svilar's rebound it is N'Dicka who blocks Piccoli, who then in the 45th minute almost makes it 1-0 with a right-footed shot from the edge that goes wide.
In the second half, Roma immediately took over with Soulé, a left-footed shot sent into the corner by Scuffet (48'), a minute later a right-footed shot from Zalewski went high. Scuffet was again providential in the 55th minute , when on a cross from Zalewski he let Dovbyk slide for a penalty on the move with a sure shot from Pellegrini that the Cagliari goalkeeper saved in two stages. Cagliari came back in the 59th minute, with a cross from Luvumbo and an acrobatic shot from Marin that went wide.
In the 69th minute, Dybala's match begins, perhaps his last in yellow and red, for Zalewski. The best action comes from the Argentine's left foot in the 80th minute, a cross and header in the six-yard box by Dovbyk onto the crossbar . The crossbar also hits Marin a minute later with a super right-footer from the edge touched by Svilar. Then Pellegrini scores, a tap-in on a shot by Dovbyk that is parried short by Scuffet, but it's offside. In injury time (93') Adopo serves Pavoletti, right-footer wide, then the last action is a right-footer by El Shaarawy that goes just wide.
