«It seems to me that the national government's intention is to use this appeal to transform the issue into a political brawl when instead the motion approved by the regional council aims first and foremost at defending the democratically elected institution».

Michele Ciusa, spokesperson for the 5 Star Movement in the Regional Council, is convinced of this when he speaks of the government's decision - which was obvious - to resist the judgment for conflict of attribution before the Constitutional Court proposed by the Region on the order-injunction of forfeiture of governor Alessandra Todde.

"We know very well that the dismissal of the president would lead to the dissolution of the Council, so the principle is first and foremost to defend the popular will", he adds, "and the motion clearly expresses the cardinal principles that guide it and we need the Consulta to tell us if this whole process is constitutionally correct".
