Goodbye to Fritz Wepper, the famous assistant in the television series Inspector Derrick. The German actor died in Munich at the age of 82.

Very popular in Germany, where he appeared in several films since the end of the 1950s, it was the character of Harry Klein that made him famous throughout the world, a role he played from 1969 to 1974 alongside Inspector Keller (Erik Ode) in Der Kommissar. And which he then resumed from 1974 to 1998 in the series Inspector Derrick (broadcast in more than 100 countries around the world), for a total of 281 episodes. Stephan Derrick was Horst Tappert, who died in 2008 (and was revealed five years later to have been a soldier in the Nazi army).

At the beginning of the Seventies he starred in the film adaptation of the musical Cabaret, alongside Liza Minnelli. In the film, awarded eight Oscars, he plays Fritz Wendel. Wepper is also among the protagonists of Un ciclone in convento, broadcast in Italy between 2002 and 2021.
