He had been fighting a brain tumor for seven years. Last night goalkeeper Daniel Leone died. At just 28 years old. Originally from Piedimonte Matese, a municipality of Caserta, he played for Catanzaro and Reggina, and in 2014 he also wore the Torres shirt, for the second round of the C2 2013/14 championship, totaling 17 appearances.

The rossoblù club remembers this, together with all the Sassari supporters "in a moving hug to Daniel's family".

Right after the Sassari championship, when he was registered for Reggina, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Daniel Leone had to stop competitive activity to be cured. He also returned to the field in Serie C in 2017, in Catanzaro, where he also played three games. However, the tumor reappeared and this time he had to say goodbye to calcium and undergo courses of chemotherapy. Four years of struggle and suffering that ended last night.
