Minus ten. The countdown has already started for the Giro d'Italia Women , which after 24 years will start from Sardinia with three stages . As then, the conclusion will be in Veneto: in 1998 it was in Vittorio Veneto, this time in Padua, after ten stages in which the best athletes in the world for stage races will battle to win the pink jersey, points for the world rankings and, why not, a prize pool that has never been so rich : the winner will put in her pocket (or rather, share with the team as is tradition) as many as 50 of the 250 thousand euros allocated by the organizers .

"The prize money is the highest ever seen for a women's cycling race", explains the director of the Giro Donne, Roberto Ruini , "we want to give these athletes a higher dignity than they have so far and give strength to the women's movement".

The organization is ready, we think about taking care of the details for a top-level race , included in the World Tour and honored by the participation of the best athletes, including the Italians who this year really gave a show in the spring.

The first stage, Thursday 30 June, will see them parade one by one to the delight of the public along the 4.75 km of the Poetto time trial, in Cagliari . The race headquarters will be in Marina Piccola , on Wednesday 29 the great presentation of the athletes in Largo Carlo Felice.

The other Sardinian stops will be in line: Villasimius-Tortolì the 1st liglio and Cala Gonone-Olbia the 2nd.
