The official announcement will probably arrive in a few days, but Gigi Buffon has now decided: he retires from playing football.

The 45-year-old goalkeeper, world champion in 2006, will end his career that began in Parma in 1995 with the Emilian club after twenty years in goal for Juve and after winning ten league titles with the bianconeri (as well as a Serie B, six Italian Cups, seven Italian Super Cups, a UEFA Cup, a Ligue 1 championship and a French Super Cup), a World Cup, European runner-up in 2012, and with the only regret for the missed Champions League.

After weeks of reflections, Buffon's farewell to football is therefore really one step away, despite the prospect of continuing with Parma, with whom he still has a year of contract and the millionaire offers from Saudi Arabia.
