To discover the secrets of Mont'e Prama it is no longer enough just to follow the footsteps of the Giants on the Sinis hills. Among those vineyards, planted as a conscious investment in the "prize" of an archaeological find, the millenary history of those statues devastated by the fury of the "damnatio memoriae " is no longer hidden. In that hermitage full of symbols and artifacts the most total abandonment dominates, excavations punctuated by the dropper of the State, with bulldozers deployed on the site, almost as if it were a construction site and not, instead, the place where the millenary history of the People is hidden Sardinian. That desolate land screeches, with the signs of the Romanesque Templars that slap common sense and the sense of the ridiculous, with weeds from the land snatched from the most elementary good conduct, and not just agricultural.

Decay & business

Stride, that devastating degradation, first of all with those copious and infinite expenses that hover like gray and heavy clouds over the management of this "affaire" of the Giants of Mont'e Prama. On one side barred gates, no construction site, no sign of life, not even a modest signpost, on the other hand glossy magazines from the Arabian Nights emerge, two-day fairs paid for as if Dubai were on the Gulf of Cabras, assignments and consultancy to make any municipality on the island shudder, forced to turn off the lights to close the budget circle. Yet here, on the shoulders of the Giants, one of the most important economic and financial sagas of recent years is taking place. The clash between the Mayor of Cabras and the Mont 'e Prama Foundation, the usual state bandwagon created to spend and spread in the name of the Giants, is nothing compared to the avalanche of documents that emerge hour after hour on that river of money all spent private negotiation and directed by the Mont 'e Prama "foundation".

Forgotten Hill

Not even a concrete euro invested in that site abandoned to itself, compared to millions of euro, divided into streams and nabob contracts, for companies in some cases intertwined and overlapping, all contracts stipulated between Naples, Pisa, Milan, Cagliari and Sassari . Unlike the history of the Giants, still to be written, the operation we are dealing with is marked by documents that "sing", unassailable, imprinted by the impregnable adage of the "scripta manent". Dozens and dozens of acts that open unexplored chapters of public spending, because this is the one managed by a Foundation that receives copious funding from the most varied institutions, starting with the generous Sardinian Region. Just one figure is enough to understand the grandeur of this expenditure consumed with both hands with "technical-accounting determinations" which can hardly be the result of the imagination of officials and managers. In just two days, excluding ceremonial clippings, half a million euros were spent a day. Much more than what has been spent on the excavations of Mont 'e Prama in the last ten years.

Last minute experts

The Mont 'e Prama Foundation, it is not known on the basis of what experience gained in the past, was commissioned by the Region to organize an all-cardboard and hostess event, a few conferences with a few dozen people among the listeners, called Archeologika 2022. Obviously the promoters have spoken of success, but the images and the results, the measurable ones, say something else. What doesn't lie is the financial account of the management of the Mont 'e Prama Foundation, starting with the imposing and definitely over the top figures relating to that very event last October, from 13 to 16, reduced to two days, if you they exclude pleasantries and propaganda blowpipes.

The Pisa's tower

A first fact emerges in our investigation: some of the companies responsible for dealing with communication, marketing, press offices, coordination, distribution of multimedia contents are linked by a red thread that unites them one to the other. The keystone, to understand corporate intertwining and links between the various teams, is Largo Padre Renzo Spadoni, in the heart of the Old Slaughterhouses of the city of the leaning tower, Pisa. It is here that the first full house of offices and public money is spent on the altar of Mont 'e Prama. It almost seems that in the land of Pisa there is a real branch of archaeological Sardinia, in spite of local expertise. The first assignment, the offices of the Fondazione dei Giganti, was entrusted to SET srl, Società Economia e Territorio, by direct and therefore private negotiation, obviously in the Pisan area. The mandate is signed, within a month of the event to be held in the Bastion of Cagliari, exactly on 9 September 2022. The object of the assignment is broad spectrum: «Design service and delivery of video and multimedia content for Archeologika 2022". Even if they were to produce " Ben-Hur" in Mont'e Prama, the Pisans receive a thousand and one night contract worth 91 thousand euros. Anyone who understands video productions knows well that it is an enormity, exempting us from even more disarming assessments of costs and benefits. A stone's throw from SET, also in Largo Padre Renzo Spadoni, also in Pisa, is the headquarters of Fabvision, another of the companies diligently traced from the banks of the Cabras ponds. The Foundation entrusts to you gentlemen the task of «Coordination and supervision of works for Archeologika 2022»: the amount of the assignment for the two days in Cagliari is another 58 thousand euros. The two companies not only have the same office entrance in common, but also the chamber of commerce records confirm intertwined company shares, given that the Fabvision director is also a shareholder of SET, the company in charge of making the videos for the event.

Why in Pisa?

The question arises spontaneously: why from Cabras did the Mont'e Prama Foundation end up in Pisa to entrust these tasks to direct negotiation? The answer is not up to us, certainly in this story there is another link that cannot remain closed to most. In fact, SET owns 40% of a company with an eloquent name: Gate Real Estate Innovation. As it happens, this real estate company has its headquarters in Cagliari, a stone's throw from the Bastion, at number 33 in viale Regina Margherita. And so far it may have been the astral conjunction that determined the coincidence, but the subsequent verification confirms that it is not the stars that guide the corporate ties in Sardinia. The Chinese boxes are a mess, but in the end two more contracts appear, one, yet another, signed for Archeologika 2022, and one directly for the management of the Mont'e Prama Foundation.

The corporate connections

Let's see them in detail. To manage the direct assignment of a "visitor center", for the "modest" sum of 148 thousand euros, a company from Cagliari, Opificio Innova srl, has been indicated, coincidentally with its registered office in the same building as the controlled real estate company for 40% from SET in Pisa. But that's not all, for the Archeologika 2022 press office, for a few days and a few press releases to the media, the Mont 'e Prama Foundation has not gone far from the red thread of Pisa. With a figure that would make any professional journalist shiver, an exorbitant assignment of 45,000 euros was entrusted for the management of the press office. The chosen one, always in direct and exclusive negotiation, is "Prima Idea srl", coincidentally the company that owns 61% of the shares of "Opificio Innova srl". A joint that revolves around the direct assignments managed by the Mont'e Prama foundation, as if there were no one else in the world, much less in Sardinia, able to manage this type of service.

Over one million euros

The game, however, does not end there. For that "two days" of "Archaeologika 2022" the expenditure exceeded one million euros, including cardboard, hostesses and rental televisions. An infinite saga of public money, with the hill of the Giants, those of Mont'e Prama, only seduced and abandoned. So much for the millenary history of the Sardinian people.
