The " Museum of the Territory " was inaugurated in the former Casa Dessì in Gesico , with the exhibition of finds from the various excavation campaigns which particularly affected the San Sebastiano archaeological area and the giants' tombs located in Muttas Nieddas.

It is a project strongly desired by the municipal administration which, in addition to making Gesico known as a center in its own right, aims to enhance the ancient history of a territory such as Trexenta . The Gesico museum system will allow the visitor to travel through different eras, through the churches, the murals and the temporary and permanent exhibitions inside Casa Dessì.

"What seemed impossible to achieve finally takes concrete shape and hits a priority objective of the administrative program," said Mayor Terenzio Schirru . But it won't just be a museum, understood as a static place, the initiative also envisages the integrated management of tourist services . "We will start the path of a demanding process of valorisation of the archaeological finds found in Gesico which will constitute a primary objective of valorisation and promotion of the entire cultural heritage", concluded the mayor.

The presentation of the temporary exhibition "History of food from prehistory to the Middle Ages" was also held in the Schirru House , which had already had great success on the occasion of the Saboris Antigus review which was held in Gesico in recent weeks. The president of Gal Sole-Grano-Terra , which includes the Sarrabus-Trexenta-Gerrei and Campidano di Cagliari area, Antonino Arba and the scientific coordinator of the Maily Serra project took part.
