The "Canepa" Conservatory of Sassari recently participated in the opening ceremony of Italy's mandate to the Human Rights Council 2026-2028 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva . The event was organized by the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations.
Three Canepa students— violinists Samuele Cossu and Alessia Pittau, and bassoonist Riccardo Di Ciccio —and instructor Riccardo Sarti performed for the Sassari music institute. The concert, "Music 4D – From Morricone to Bacalov," is a musical journey through key themes from Italian and international films. It includes screenings and interactive installations, and involves several Italian higher education institutions, led by the Scarlatti Conservatory of Palermo.
The Sassari Conservatory was represented by President Ivano Iai, also in his capacity as President of the National Conference of Conservatory Presidents, and by newly elected Director Andrea Ivaldi – on his first international mission in his new role – who met on the occasion with Ambassador Luigi Maria Vignali, Italy's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva.
