Generational turnover of businesses: the Region is making €2 million available
Non-repayable grants have been allocated to encourage the creation of new artisan businesses. Grants can be granted at up to 85% to support young people and female employment.

The Sardinia Region has launched a call for applications for grants for investments aimed at generational turnover in artisan businesses, with a total funding allocation of €2 million.
The measure provides non-repayable grants of up to 80% of eligible expenses, a percentage that can rise to 85% for young, female-run businesses and those based in small municipalities.
New artisan businesses established following the takeover of an "original" business that has been in business for at least five years are eligible for the incentives. The generational transition must benefit relatives, spouses, or in-laws within the third degree of kinship of the outgoing entrepreneur, employees of the business with at least three years' seniority, or young entrepreneurs under 35 with at least two years of experience in the sector.
There are many new features compared to the previous year, with the aim of expanding the range of beneficiaries and making the tool even more effective and accessible.
Among the main innovations, in addition to generational transitions already completed in the 18 months prior to submitting the application, projects underway or yet to be launched are now also eligible, provided they are completed after the previous call for proposals closed.
The maximum grant that can be awarded has also been increased to €100,000 per business, which can be increased to €110,000 for female-owned businesses.
To facilitate the start of the new management, eligible expenses include the purchase of machinery, systems, and equipment, including used or second-hand ones, as well as intangible assets necessary for company modernization.
"Every artisan business that manages to overcome the delicate moment of generational transition is a business that continues to create jobs, value, and identity for our communities," says Regional Councilor Franco Cuccureddu . "This is why we have strengthened a strategic measure, making it simpler, more inclusive, and more advantageous. Investing in generational turnover means not only preventing the closure of historic businesses, but also providing young people and those who decide to inherit this legacy with the tools they need to innovate and make Sardinia's artisan businesses more competitive, preserving their skills, employment, and economic value."
Applications can be submitted from 10:00 am on August 10, 2026, until 5:00 pm on October 12, 2026 , using the Region's SIPES IT system.
