A unified agenda on the strategies to be undertaken to combat gender-based violence and discrimination. Inside there are the themes of the three motions presented today in no particular order in the Regional Council of Sardinia on the occasion of the Statutory session dedicated to femicides.

Among the main points approved are the establishment of the Pink Code as an addition for access to the triage of the First Aid, the creation of the Department of Equal Opportunities and a special commission for the fight against gender inequality.

The Sardinian Assembly therefore asks the President of the Region Christian Solinas to also commit himself to guaranteeing continuity in the funding of anti-violence centers, training in schools for a culture of non-discrimination, the approval of a multi-year plan to combat violence and discrimination, and finally the financing of awareness and prevention programs.

"In Sardinia there are still too few complaints - the councilor for Labor and Forza Italia councilor Alessandra Zedda said in the Chamber - projects and resources are needed within a strategic plan dedicated to women, starting with the strengthening of the income of freedom ".

Carla Cuccu (M5s), the first signatory of one of the motions, underlined the need for "the world of work to favor the recruitment of those who leave the centers of violence". Desirè Manca (M5s) recalled having urged this session for some time, and pointed out the absence of the President of the Region and most of his male councilors. Then he recalled the names of the last women killed in Sardinia.

Rossella Pinna (Pd) observed that violence often takes place at home, the place of loved ones but also the most dangerous for women and children.

According to Elena Fancello (Psd'Az), what is missing is a cultural approach: "What has been done should be done to sensitize the new generations to environmental issues". Maria Laura Orrù (Progressives) recalled that "the alarming data of the phenomenon have been aggravated by the pandemic".

Again on behalf of the Progressives group, Laura Caddeo declared that we must also profoundly change the way in which episodes of violence and femicide are communicated, because we often speak of a "drama of jealousy" or a "murderous raptus" of men, forgetting all of this. which preceded the extreme act of violence.

Sara Canu (Reformers) focused on the centrality of cultural change, recalling the very hard condition of Afghan women who today cannot even study.
