Economic activity in Sardinia is expected to be moderate but growing in the first half of 2025. In the first half of the year, GDP increased by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2024. While the increase is lower than the overall figure for Southern Italy, it is slightly higher than the national average. This data comes from the economic update on the Sardinian economy for the first six months of the year, presented yesterday in Cagliari by the Bank of Italy.
After the low levels seen in the first half of 2024 , inflation began to rise again and then stabilized in recent months, reaching 1.3% in September, below the national rate of 1.6%. This trend was primarily impacted by increases in food prices (+3.7%) and services (+2.7%). Exports are declining again, following a slight increase last year.
