"Sardinia's viticulture, between the sea and the mountains, the multitude of vines, mostly native or that have in any case adapted perfectly to the soils of the Island, is incredible", we read in a note from Gambero Rosso that highlights the extraordinary diversity of soils, altitudes, microclimates. "From the granite of Gallura to the limestone of Coros, from the clays of Ogliastra to the sands of Sulcis, to name just a few areas". Added to this are important climatic differences. "Some vineyards in Barbagia and Mandrolisai are at more than 700 meters above sea level - they underline - a true mountain viticulture, while there are many rows just a step away from the sea. In addition, there is the value of the old vineyards, still many, despite the reckless uprooting of a few decades ago".
