«The Southern bill is a big bluff by the Meloni government».

It is a judgment without appeal that of the Sardinian Dem parliamentarians, Silvio Lai and Marco Meloni, on the legislative decree which will arrive at Montecitorio on October 27th, already bringing with it 532 amendments, two thirds from the opposition.

«This decree does nothing other than repair the damage done by Minister Fitto to the cuts to the Pnrr by attempting to compensate with resources taken away from the Regions that need them most», underline Lai and Meloni who presented the amendments this morning at the PD headquarters in Via Emilia to the decree establishing the single SEZ for the South.

«The text takes the resources available for limited territorial areas and uses them for larger territories, with a struggle between the poor to get there first without privileging the strategic evaluation of investments». But Sardinia and Sicily, regions with special statutes, "need to have different treatment".

The proposed amendments «are available to all Sardinian and Sicilian parliamentarians, including the majority, who have already expressed opposition to this text but who should convince the friendly government». And they warn: "If the amendments do not pass, the only alternative according to the Democratic Party is to challenge the text on the level of constitutionality."
