From the Region a "baby bonus" to combat the depopulation of the small towns of Sardinia .

The Solinas Council, on the proposal of the regional councilor for Health and Social Assistance, Mario Nieddu , approved the guidelines for the disbursement of contributions in favor of resident households or who transfer their residence to Sardinian municipalities with populations under 3,000 inhabitants .

"The measure - explains a note from the Region - will allow families, even composed of a single parent, to receive a monthly allowance of 600 euros for the first child born, adopted or in pre-adoption foster care in 2022, and 400 euros for each subsequent child up to the age of 5. For 2022 the resources allocated to the bonus amount to € 7,098,600 ".

“Real and certain resources to combat depopulation. With this provision we add a fundamental piece in the general framework of the measures that the Region is putting in place to contrast depopulation and to relaunch the development of smaller municipalities. A phenomenon, that of depopulation, which particularly affects the internal areas of our territory ”, says Governor Christian Solinas . He adds: "To stem this phenomenon and reverse the sign of demographic flows is a priority for us which, today more than ever, after more than two years of pandemic and in the light of current economic scenarios, must necessarily pass from supporting families".

“We have worked scrupulously to define the criteria for the disbursement of contributions - echoes the commissioner Nieddu - carefully evaluating every aspect and this today allows us to allocate the measure to the widest possible audience. The beneficiaries of the resources will be the 275 Municipalities of Sardinia under three thousand inhabitants - according to what was recorded at 31 December 2020 - and the resident families, who will eventually be able to combine the contribution with other measures ".

The municipalities to which the resources will be transferred will be the ones to publish the notices for the disbursement of the contribution.
