From 2023, no more Rai fees on the bill.

An agenda presented by Maria Laura Paxia of the Misto group, accepted by the government, was approved.

It plans to "adopt regulatory measures aimed at separating the Rai license fee from 2023". Thus, underlines Paxia, “the commitment made with the European Union, which had asked to unbundle the fee as an improper burden, is followed up”.

Concern was expressed by Usigrai, the RAI journalists union. “The Italian fee - they recall - is the lowest in Europe, as is the number of journalists in the workforce in proportion to the hours of self-produced broadcasts. The risk is that the unbundling from the bill will result in a new race to evasion. If that were the case, public service would be in danger ”.
