On the stage of Piazza d'Italia but also on the set of Sassari. On Thursday, tenor Francesco Demuro will be Pinkerton in Giacomo Puccini's "Madama Butterfly" proposed by the Marialisa de Carolis organization. For the occasion, director Pietro Mereu will shoot the first images of the documentary film "Francesco Demuro. Il Re Cantore", a title played on the beginnings of the artist from Porto Torres as a singer in the cantu a chiterra and then becoming an opera star, so much so that in 2019 he received the International Opera Awards as the best tenor in the world.

Lanusei director Mereu explains: "I usually tell stories of unknown people, but with Francesco it was different. We had been talking on the phone for years, and when we finally met, I understood that I had to tell his story."

The film is produced by Piano B Produzioni of Rome and   has obtained the support of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the Ministry of Culture (MiC).
