A painful disease, which marked her in body and spirit, to the point of having "cherished the idea of suicide".

It is the terrible outburst of Francesca Neri, who after what her husband anticipated on TV tells of the disease that hit her, and the terrible consequences with which she has been forced to live with for years.

Francesca Neri has been suffering for years from a chronic disease, interstitial cystitis. An insidious disease, difficult to fight, and a disabling pathology to the point of forcing those who suffer from it, as in the case of Francesca Neri, to remain locked in a room for a long time.

The pain of the actress is now also entrusted to the pages of a book, "Come carne viva", an in-depth study on the disease in which the beautiful actress, away from the scene since 2015, tells herself with an open heart.

"The acute phase lasted three years, I am not out of it, it is not cured: you learn to manage it and not to provoke it, so that it is not disabling", Francesca Neri explains today to Corriere.

"The first two years, I who do not believe in social media, I was in a chat of women suffering from this pathology. Then I found a balance, I have to learn to defend it. I started depriving myself of things that could trigger a reaction. L "air conditioning, heat, certain foods. The bladder is a wall and if it is injured internal wounds are created. I know them well, I also have them in my soul".

It is difficult to live together at home, with her husband and son Rocco. “I wanted to be left alone. I had to protect Claudio and Rocco, my son, otherwise I wouldn't have made it myself, who am the head of the family who takes care of everything. In fact I was gone for three years, but I was there, I was there in the house with them, and that's the most terrible thing. I toyed with the idea of suicide. I spent months playing burraco online at night. My lockdown lasted three years. And when it came to everyone, with the pandemic, I was better off because I shared the situation of others ”.
